EU Transfer Applications

Applications are welcomed from students who have studied at Level 6, Level 7 and Level 8 in relevant areas. Such transfer students may be exempt from certain modules.   Applications are made via the CAO Advanced Entry route which will open on the 1st Feb to the 1st May 2022.

 

International Applications

International candidates are expected to have educational qualifications of a standard equivalent to those outlined above. In addition, where such candidates are non-native speakers of the English language they must satisfy the university of their competency in the English language. Admission Process

1. Application along with supporting documents will be processed on TEN Agent portal.
2. Student will receive the admission offer either conditional or unconditional on his TEN Agent portal.After accepting the offer Fee invoice will be generated on student account.
3 .After getting the fee invoice student can pay the fee and fee receipt can be found on TEN Portal  (Ten Agents).

Description

The BA in Journalism offers some scope for specialisation with optional modules, but every student takes the same broad range of core modules in their three years.

An essential element of the final year of the course is an eight-week placement in a media organisation where you’ll trial your abilities in the working world. Every journalism student must complete a relevant work placement arranged or approved by DCU.

Explore a theoretical understanding of communication, media and society while learning to engage in storytelling across multiple platforms

Benefit from production modules in social, mobile, audio, imaging and video

Participate in and contribute to the longest running undergraduate degree of its type in Ireland, with a reputation for academic and creative excellence

Learn from staff with professional experience in the fields of social, digital, broadcast and print media, academic research and teaching

Experience working life through an eight-week internship in a media organisation
