Eligibility

For entry to a bachelor’s degree (year 3), we will consider the following qualifications:

  • A recognised foundation programme

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma

  • International Advanced Levels (A Levels)

  • HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 50% from the West Bengal exam board

  • HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 55% from the following exam boards: Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations New Delhi (CISCE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

  • HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 60% with at least 40% in a minimum of 5 subjects from any other exam board

 

English proficiency: Applicants must meet the minimum required English proficiency 

IELTS Academic -     6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill  

PTE Academy     -     60 overall with a minimum of 59 in each skill

TOEFL( IBT)        -     80 Overall Listening - 17 Reading - 18 Writing 17 Speaking 20

Admission Process

Step 1. Application along with supporting documents will be processed on The Edu Network portal.

Step 2. The student will receive the admission offer either conditional or unconditional on his The Edu Network portal. After accepting the offer a Fee invoice will be generated on the student account.

Step 3. After getting the fee invoice student can pay the fee and the fee receipt can be found on The Edu Network portal (Ten Agents).

On this degree you'll explore what shapes societies and individual lives, the relations that connect individuals, groups and institutions within societies and those that the divide them.

As a BA (Hons) Sociology student at ARU, you’ll look at the work of classical sociologists, such as Weber, Du Bois and Marx, while adopting a decolonial approach to understand how sociology as a discipline is changing to respond to global issues. Through the study and application of social research methods viz., interviewing, group discussions, statistical analysis, etc., you will acquire transferable skills to take with you into a wide range of careers.
