Eligibility

Graduate entry

An Australian bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline, except a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), from a recognised tertiary institution with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (out of 4.0)/65%.

English language requirements

Satisfactory completion of one of the following:

  • Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%
  • minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
  • Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
  • any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.

         Read the Offer of Admission to ensure all details, including your course and                                 commencement date, are correct. 

          Meet the conditions, if any on your Offer of Admission. Sign Your Admission Contract and   pay the Tuition fee .

Step 3 : After accepting  your offer, send documents to meet any conditions and processed your payment,  a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE)  will be issued to you via mail . 

A COE is required for your application for a student visa to study and live in Australia legally. Now , You Can Apply for your Study Visa .

The Bachelor of Laws - Graduate Entry is specifically for students who’ve completed a non-law undergraduate degree and wish to diversify their career options.

This degree attracts a cohort of mature students, including those in full-time employment. As a student, you’ll be part of a cohesive peer group and network of like-minded professionals.

This is a well-respected and relevant additional qualification. It has a unique focus on the technologies transforming legal practice, as well as on intellectual property (IP) law within a commercial law context.

You’ll learn how to protect those who innovate and create. Developing your skills and an understanding of the technology (legal tech, or lawtech) transforming legal practice today such as smart legal contracts, document automation, predicative AI and advanced chatbots. Plus, gain a solid grounding of the legal system with core units in Administrative Law, Contract Law and Criminal Law & Procedure.

All Swinburne bachelor degrees include a guaranteed Work Integrated Learning opportunity, which could be a placementinternship or industry-linked project. In this degree, you'll complete law-related professional experience placements at organisations in Australia or overseas. You'll also be introduced to the practical aspects of legal practice including legal drafting exercises, solving complex problems for industry and advocacy exercises.

Graduates will be equipped with the skills to work in commercial and general legal practice, the courts, or across a broad range of industries including media and entertainment, business, the public service and the not-for profit sector.
