Eligibility

Selkirk College's Admission Requirements:

  • Have graduated from a BC Senior Secondary School or equivalent, or
  • Be 19 years of age or over at the time of application, or
  • Be under 19 years of age but have a written recommendation from your Secondary School Principal

First-time applicants may be required to take the College Readiness Tool (CRT). Please refer to your acceptance letter to determine if you need to take the CRT. 

Forest Technology Academic Admission Requirements:

Successful completion of these high-school or equivalent courses:

  • Foundations of Mathematics 11 with a minimum of 67% or higher
  • Biology 11 with a minimum of 67% or higher
  • English Studies 12 with a minimum of 67% or higher

NOTE: Applicants in Grade 12 at the time of application must show proof of registration or completion of the above courses.

Transfer Credit: For students with previous post-secondary experience, advanced credit may be available for related course work through the Application for Advanced Credit Process.

Admission Process

1. Application along with supporting documents will be processed on TEN Agent portal.
2. Application fee of 100$ will be charged from the student and it will be paid by credit card only 
3. Student will receive the admission offer either conditional or unconditional on his TEN Agent portal.After accepting the offer Fee invoice will be generated on student account.
4.After getting the fee invoice student can pay the fee and fee receipt can be found on TEN Portal  (Ten Agents).

Description

Located in the beautiful West Kootenays, Selkirk College’s highly regarded Forest Technology program has been providing forest sector employers with skilled graduates for over fifty years.  Our program is nationally accredited and upon graduation, students are eligible to enrol to become Registered Forest Technologists with the Association of BC Forest Professionals.

Selkirk College’s Forest Technology program provides an ideal starting point for learners excited by the combined career challenges of working in B.C.’s rugged outdoors and finding modern solutions to current forest management issues.  Our primary goal is to provide job-ready graduates to potential employers in both private industry and government.

Our program focuses on the following principles in order to optimize our students’ learning experience:

  1. Instruction by practicing resource professionals;
  2. Maximization of outdoor learning opportunities in real forest environments;
  3. Collaboration with industry professionals to provide exposure to current practices in all aspects of forest management;
