Our accounting professors combine years of industry experience, academic knowledge and the latest hands-on learning strategies to create an educational blueprint that keeps pace with the changing field. They use innovative teaching methods that let you master basic concepts independently, while prioritizing complex topics in class. It's higher thinking through hands-on guidance.
Collaborative and hands-on learning
Today's work world has changed. Top employability skills now include creative and critical thinking, collaboration across networks, leading by influence, communication and entrepreneurship. Our small class sizes and experiential learning approach promote the development of these skills through constant interaction with professors and peers.
Gain real-world work experience before graduation
In the accounting program, you'll have the benefit of completing a mandatory work term as part of your business degree. This provides valuable work experience and allows you to practice and finesse skills and concepts learned in class. You may also participate in an optional co-op program to further boost your experience and résumé before graduation.
Accounting degree courses recognized by the CPA
Sheridan's 120-credit-hour bachelor of accounting degree meets the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) requirement for entry into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
If you graduate from Sheridan's BBA accounting program and meet all of the CPA's minimum grade requirements, you could qualify for exemption from the CPA Preparatory courses (PREP) and receive entry into the CPA PEP.
