Get a well-rounded architectural education
Gain the practical skills and fundamental architectural knowledge you need to enter the workplace after graduation. You'll study building code standards, materials, project planning and more. Skills you'll learn include: 2D and 3D Computer-aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), visual problem-solving, preparation of contract documents and specifications and envelope detailing.
Learn on a campus designed for architecture studies
Our Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga was built with architecture students in mind. It’s a living lab, with exposed building elements and the latest sustainable features to help you view architecture from the inside out. It’s also home to Canada’s first Material ConneXion Library, which offers hundreds of material samples, industry-grade CAD labs, large-scale printers and more.
Take on architectural challenges outside of the classroom
During our annual Architecture Week, you’ll work with other architecture students on design challenges assigned by real clients from the community. You’ll also have the chance to learn from guest speakers who are current industry leaders, discussing topics such as sustainability, new buildings and more.
Qualify to become a registered building practitioner
When you graduate from our Architectural Technician diploma program, you'll have gained skills that will better prepare you for your Building Code Identification Number (BCIN). Having a BCIN allows you to apply for building permits for your clients and design buildings up to a certain size, with focus on residential structures in Ontario.
Work towards your Architectural Technology advanced diploma
When you graduate, you can either enter the workforce or go directly into the final year of Sheridan’s Architectural Technology advanced diploma program. There, you’ll learn to use advanced technologies, develop key leadership skills and even earn credits towards your master’s degree.
