Description

Become a valuable influencer

Human resources is more than supporting employees and handling payroll. Today’s HR professionals are also major influencers in shaping a company’s business strategies and maximizing productivity. Our human resources degree is built on a solid foundation of general business skills, enabling you to understand the priorities and goals of an entire organization.

Learn from industry leaders

Sheridan's HR programs and professors are well-known and highly respected in the industry. Our students also often intern or land a co-op position with notable employers such as federal and municipal government, Softchoice, Sunwing Travel Group and the Real Estate Council of Ontario.

Work towards your CHRP and CHRL certification

You'll be job-ready when you graduate, but you’ll also be well on your way to earning valuable certification from the HRPA. Our curriculum is aligned with the HRPA coursework requirements. This will help you if you’re interested in becoming a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

An HR program designed for today’s business world

Today's work world has changed. Top employability skills now include critical thinking, collaboration across networks and leading by influence, communication and entrepreneurship. Our Honours BBA programs help you build these leadership capabilities and more. Equipped with workplace-relevant courses and the essential job skills employers want, you'll have the opportunity to excel in today's workplace.

Small classes and hands-on learning

Our Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programs feature an innovative experiential learning model that prepares you for the workplace. Rather than being asked to memorize content in a large lecture hall, you’ll get to know your professors and peers through interaction and collaboration. You’ll actively apply your knowledge and solve business problems that simulate the real world.

Critical Employability and 21st Century Skills

The Honours BBA programs were designed to ensure graduates acquire the ability to apply a range of business frameworks, critical employability and 21st century skills to better prepare them to meaningfully contribute and add value to the organizations and communities they serve. With this in mind you will complete 3 required courses: Becoming a Master Learner – an introductory course designed to provide you with the tools and strategies to help you succeed, Undergraduate Competency Development – designed to develop your skill sets around the key Competencies required to achieve success in business and society and BBA Portfolio – create a career-ready showcase e-portfolio that chronicles your development of the BBA Undergrad Competencies.

Creative problem solving for the modern business world

Complement your Human Resources Management degree with a unique certificate that demonstrates your ability to think creatively! In addition to your core BBA courses, you’ll have the opportunity to take electives that will enable you to earn a Sheridan Board Undergraduate Certificate in Creativity and Creative Problem Solving. 50% of our June 2019 BBA graduates earned this optional certificate, which is endorsed by the State University of New York.

Courses in the certificate include:

  • Creative Leadership and Problem Solving
  • Applications of Creativity and Innovation
  • Group Dynamics and Creative Problem Solving Facilitation
  • Introduction to Studies in Creativity
  • Principles of Creative Problem Solving
  • Composition and Rhetoric

Flexible learning options

Sheridan's Honours BBA programs offer flexible learning options that fit into your busy life. You can choose to study part-time while you work or take a full-time course load. With morning, afternoon and some evening classes available, we make learning around your schedule convenient and simple
